1. Get a wallet on Arbitrum One
The web catalog uses MetaMask (browser extension) or any
WalletConnect-compatible wallet on Arbitrum One
(Ethereum L2, chain ID 42161).
- Install MetaMask from the official MetaMask site (or open your WalletConnect wallet).
- Create a new wallet or import an existing one. Back up the seed phrase offline.
- Add or switch to Arbitrum One. MetaMask usually offers it under Networks → Add network.
Browsing and searching never spend TTT. You only need the wallet when you Pay. Social writes (comments, votes) are not on the web catalog.
2. Get a little TTT (and ETH for gas)
- ETH on Arbitrum One — tiny amounts for approve and pay txs.
- TTT — the Torrentech ERC-20. Paid downloads burn
2 TTT by default (owner-tunable). Contract:
0x3eD20eD1242Ce6fcd547744CC39B71688eD08869on Arbitrum One (Arbiscan).
The web catalog has no free download. If you have no TTT yet, use the desktop app when builds ship (free download there, once per cooldown), or get TTT first.
3. Open the catalog and connect
- Open app.torrentech.org.
- Click Connect Wallet and approve the connection.
- Confirm the wallet is on Arbitrum One.
- You're in. Catalog browse and search are free.
4. Find a release and pay
- Browse or search for an artist, album, label, or tag.
- Open a release to see cover, details, and available formats (FLAC, MP3, …).
- On a format row, choose Pay
NTTT — burnsNTTT (default 2). Your wallet will ask to approve the incentives contract, then confirm the payment. Burn is intentional: it frees mint headroom for pin rewards (see tokenomics). - Wait for the transaction to confirm. Download buttons for that format then become available.
Moderators and admins have a separate staff download (no TTT) for review. Ordinary users only see Pay.
5. Save the files
After you have paid, each format row offers:
- Download .tar — streams from the Torrentech gateway (lightest).
- .zip — built in the browser from that tar (uses more memory on huge releases).
- Open in IPFS / Open using IPFS gateway — for clients that understand IPFS URLs (after reveal).
There is no Download and Pin on the web catalog. That button is desktop-only (bundled Kubo).
6. That's it
The web catalog does not run IPFS, take comments, or unlock free downloads. For the full client — in-app wallet, pin, free download, comments, upload — use the desktop app. Builds are still in development.
