Rane SSL 1.9 is in Beta testing right now, which you can download and try right now if you're willing, or like many, you can wait until it becomes an offical release. As for what 1.9 add: A brand new and improved soundcard and several new features, plus a paring up between Rane and Ableton!!! The big feature everyone has been waiting for. You are now able to control Ableton sound with your Serato Records, thru a new feature called, Livefeed.

Check it out!

Just nuts. the pairing is here. Between this, the samples feature, and Video SL which I thought I was going to get into this week all but overwhelms the shit out of me.

I 'm using it on my pc
it is ok but now they are concentrating on midi and other digital (computer )features,

this is not correct-
"You are now able to control Ableton sound with your Serato Records, thru a new feature called, Livefeed"

from the rane site
Live Feed
Brand new in Scratch Live 1.9 is a groundbreaking feature called LiveFeed, taking live external audio and placing it directly on a Scratch Live virtual deck, all in real time.

so the Ableton connection is yet to come....

it's all gravy though...delicious gravy

Reread my quote and yours.

Its exactly what i said bro. wink.gif Both those statements are saying exactly the same thing.

Serato 1.9 has come out to match up with Ableton 8 being recently released. Livefeed allows them to work together thru midi, allowing unparalleled possibilities for live dj'ing and performing.
NexusMusic
So basically they made something just like rewire so that you can use Serato with Ableton and vice versa similar to how you can run FL Studio and Reason in one another.

Hey soul...no offense meant i apologize if my reply seemed snarky...

as someone who is eagerly anticipating the marriage between my favorite DAW and my favorite Digital Vinyl Emulator I am following these developments very carefully.

that said, i did check my reply and your original post as well as the link you provided.

your quote:

"plus a paring up between Rane and Ableton!!! The big feature everyone has been waiting for. You are now able to control Ableton sound with your Serato Records, thru a new feature called, Livefeed."

technically this is true...but it is only implemented via a physical line out from Live to the AUX in on the SL3...basically sampling the audio. this is not a special ableton connection rather a live audio feed that could be anything external fed into the SL3

I am sure the actual collaboration is still forthcoming...note that link you sent out - a search for the terms ableton or even "8" bring no results. Also the only google search that implies this is the connection is a link to this thread wink.gif

cheers to everyone anyhow with these dope products we're all blessed biggrin.gif
