OK Before i start my rant, I will begin by saying:

- If you are new to drum and bass, and you want your ears raped

- If you produce drum and bass, and want to be left confused, envious and upset whilst getting a massive hard on

or just

- If you want to murder your elderly next door neighbors

Here are a few tracks that will do the job, all coincidentally by NOISIA.

(the drops are also listed next to the track if you cant be fucked with the intro)

The Tide- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05CQlb_1qgw (drop 2:00)

Shellshock- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OW1kY7gUhHk (drop: 0:25, or 2:35 - depending on if you like your beef well done or completely raw)

Concussion- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g84LYUH7b2k (drop: 1:19)

Contact- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pb55ep-DrSo (drop: 2:40)

OK, SO...

Judging by the amount of seeders on Split the Atom, I am guessing most of you Torrent Techers have heard Noisia.

Right?

Well heres where the debate starts...

I am struggling to find tracks, in which an artist's level of production could plausibly contend with the tracks tracks listed above. (This maybe excludes some tracks by Koan Sound, Spor, Current Value, Phace, Donny and Misanthrop).

I'm getting fucking board of hearing new shit every week that isn't on a production level even close, and its making me want to give up and get bang into tropical techno. I am starting to believe that there are no tracks with production that is more banging than the ones i have posted today....I am writing this, because I would desperately like to be proved wrong.

If you guys can make some worthwhile suggestions, then i'm prepared to fuck my girlfriend up the ass while wearing my mr blobby costume and listening to 'Call Me Irresponsible' by Bobby Darin and post it to you guys via you tube.

Think production that wows your ears into orgasm i don't want any predictable bullshit

Here are a few suggestions that i'd argue, are fair contenders.... so get posting.

Current Value- Dark Rain http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RhDL3gs8WO8 (drop: 1:00)

Photek- Sidewinder (Infiltrata & Hochi Remix) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2BzY6xqbh7c (drop 1:50)

Koan Sound- Zappa Bomb Squad http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JbSL-WYJ4dI (drop 0:20)

[PS: if your post any drum-step, jump up or novelty step..... then i wont fuck my girlfriend up the ass while wearing my mr blobby costume and listening to 'Call Me Irresponsible' by Bobby Darin and post it to you guys via you tube, i'll just post a video of me wanking off in a hockey mask to 'sexual healing' by 'Marvin Gaye']

I know this isn't dnb etc, but Spoonbills production quality is fucking shit hot. I love it. Cocoon part 4 has a little bit of dnb flavour.

i <3 spoony.
pyc
I'm really not much into dnb, but I really do appreciate darker technoid version of it... This mix should do the job: http://www.torrentech.org/index.php?showtopic=115709 ... there I mixed the best of drum & bass that I posses... Accidentaly, half of the tracks are from Sinthetix smile.gif

This song is so evil. The drop at 1.29 really drives me insane. imo BSE still pulls of just slightly better thunes then noisia does.

I agree with you about BSE they really just have a fullness to their tracks that is hard to match.

I have found a few tracks here and there from the likes of Axiom and NPhect & Dizplay but generally keep running into pretty much the same problem as smadge.

Heres one of my favorite from NPhect & Dizplay:

Pendulol and Nubfocus both have ridiculous production values but no depth to the music. sad.gif
indica
Camo and Krooked.

I seriously cannot get enough of their stuff, the cheese factor is there, the bass, the beats.

Love it.

Ed Rush and Optical's Travel the Galaxy is a fav around here, my wife loves it, the kids dig it, all round amazing tunes!
robbee
HEY! why did i forget to mention Gridlok and Audio!?

*punches himself*

I've listen to many of the tracks posted here, and i just have to say: some people need to train their ears a bit.. make music, compare your tracks, compare other tracks. Learn your brain to use your ears, and you will here and feel the difference between productions! Noisia are dnb, dubstep geniueses! The music never gets bored. i would say it is addictive! But just wait, someone else will suddenly pop up and make a new insane some, allways does biggrin.gif

LostInTheRush
You should definitely check out the Ed Rush / Optical / Noisia collaboration.

It's fucking insane!

(Calyx & Teebee are also highly recommended!)

as much as i respect noisia i don't think its ok to search for some similar sound.. Noisia are building their very own sound and Spliting the atom is a very decent approach to that.
Schnickschnack
I just hate them -.-

Noisia & Hybris - Crystalline

I really do..

That.

Only thing as good as noisia is another track from noisia or re-mixed by noisia. It's their style. You could search for similar style/production but that would just be a "copy" now wouldn't it? wink.gif There are good artist there such as tebee and ed rush with their own styles that can be only matched by themselves smile.gif

edit: I used to dislike DnB since it sounded like a lot of piled up noise to me with rhythm that I couldn't even dance to without having some sort of epileptic attack, then I heard ...then...I heard this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AtcYtmBbBAY

...loved DnB after that, but only that kind. No offense but I can't stand Black sun empire and such, just a bunch of noise to my ears (again, that's my taste, no offense meant)

PS. everything that noisia remixes sounds better tongue.gif Even the crappy Prodigy Omen sounds like a decent track biggrin.gif http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=INhzlIz4QXA

PPS: damn.... I cannot stop my self, sorry folks...Even Moby can sound good: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCQZW_iFUp4...feature=related nuke.gif

i think non of the people here understood you right, I'm having the same felling, you all put some suggestion's of tracks that i like too but non of them are near noisia tracks that smadge_7 mentioned, not because of songs themselves but when u mix something noisia and after that track the whole mix sucks, no that energy in tracks like them, i carefully pick where to put noisia tracks in my mixes to keep the whole mix interesting a not to mess up my flow
basssub
sorry double post, i deleted it smile.gif
Skur
I hear you man i have the same kind of things with a few producers... i don't use noisia tracks much in my mix's but the difference in production values between tracks can really stop a mix its annoying sometimes! Octane & DLR are a culprit. Check them out not the same style as noisia phace etc but i personally think their productions are better. Incredibly meticulous and interesting to listen to in most cases. Their new track "mainframe" on the Inception EP is a perfect example ("The Fly" on Sonorous also), Amoss are also great (and new) dnb producers. But like i said, different style completely... (Im into a more minimal sound)

Other massive producers at the mo are icicle, rockwell, ulterior motive, fracture & neptune. quite a few about!

spor yes.gif
kwikshot
It is pretty annoying but it's definitely getting easier.

Some of these suggestions are pretty crazy though...

Camo & Krooked?

Spor?

Hmm... down.gif

But yeah, Break, Icicle, Phace and Misanthrop find themselves in rotation for me a lot <3 ninja.gif

EDIT: I often think Noisia feel the same, most of their mixes are their own songs tongue.gif
