Bedroom DJ here looking to branch out finally smile.gif

I got offered a job at a chill lounge that my friend owns. I don't own a portable sound system and have been meaning to purchase one and upgrade my home system as well. So I have been in the market for both studio monitors and portable system. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a set of 2-4 speakers preferably 4 to spread the sound around. The main room which I will play in is around 40x30~

That I could take to small house parties/private/small venues that will maintain some type of quality and have enough sound to fill a decent size room. I will be mainly playing house/minimal/trance deep, warm and progressive stuff. Again I'm not looking for raw power or audiophile quality just some type of median for a very relaxed lounge. I would like to keep the budget below 300$ if possible but under 500$ for sure.

All and any suggestions welcome.

Lol, feet for sure...

I guess my main question now NOT knowing a huge deal about speakers and what size/ability-to-fill-a-room-ness with sound. Should I just scratch this whole idea and buy a proper set for live sessions and just crank the volume down. That, or possibly consider actually doing what I have described above... I am trying to pull knowledge from different sources. I just figured you "guys in the field" may be of some help with any particular sets that may do the trick.

I've had good experiences with JBL. I had, when I did the traveling DJ gig lug around a set of JBL monitors with amp. They weren't too heavy nor too large to fit in my car. They also didn't break the bank but then again I picked them up used with my first real DJ setup. That was a great deal that lasted for years until I upgraded it. I suggest you check JBL out.
