The event would preferably take place in a damp, moist underground location, with low ceilings, powerful stroboscopic lights and thick layers of smoke. Green lasers and red light effects.

No go-go dancers, no large projections or TV screens, no flame dancers or what not. I'd have a chill out room though. In it, I'd like to see the following:

Carl Craig
Vince Watson
Ricardo Villalobos (he'd be the last up to bat)
The Persuader (if they were still around and kicking)
Ron Trent (though he doesn't fit in, like anybody'd care if he dropped Altered States around three in the morning)

1. DJ Spooky
2. Digital Mystikz (1hr Coki / 1hr Mala)
3. Vex'd
4. Scuba
5. Starkey

It'd be one hell of a night.

But DJ Spooky's set would be ridiculously amazing. He's one of the most intelligent DJs I've ever seen.

DMZ of course! They're my, by far, favorites of dubstep

Vex'd, well, Vex'd is fuckin' awesome!

Scuba because I've always heard Scuba plays the most outstanding live shows

Starkey because I love Starkey's music!

Right now, I'd be extremely interested in seeing the following (in no particular order):

1. Wighnomy Brothers
2. Xhin
3. Mark Henning
4. Seph
5. KiNK

I think this goes without saying, but just about any of the Berghain residents would do the trick as well (Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, Norman Nodge, etc.).

THE ABSURDITY FESTIVAL
June 21st, 2011
Located at Exposition Park in Downtown Los Angeles
5 areas - 10 hours of 2x4 turntablism

The first and only massive event in Southern California to focus on quality of music rather than overrated, Serato-wielding "TOP 100" talent. The only massive event in Southern California to completely exclude Electro and Trance music. The only massive event in Southern California to put a focus on broken beats and intelligent forms of dance music. The only massive event in Southern California that reserves the right to taser hipsters, scenesters, "bros", "hoes", and skinny-jeans-wearing, blank-faced-staring, XTC-dropping mongoloid kids. The only massive event in Southern California with an expected attendance of 5 people who genuinely appreciate quality music.

This event is strictly 21 and up, featuring alcohol vendors within 20 yards of anywhere you might be standing, and Monster Energy in the water fountains. Admission is free, though an extensive screening application and interview based upon personality, taste in music, and a general lack of douche-bagginess is required to attend. This festival will only be advertised via word-of-mouth, specifically MY mouth, and private internet forums that I subscribe to. A top-quality promotional campaign featuring multiple flyers, website, and promotional video has been created, and will be seen only by me. Top-quality quadrophonic sound has been hired for the event, as well as the latest technology in lighting, visuals, props, and interactive art exhibits, which only I can interact with. The sound systems will be progressively turned up every 10 minutes, until the last 30 seconds of the festival, at which point I will personally crank the gain up to 11 in an attempt to blow the drivers so nobody else can use them. This festival will also be breaking down, transporting and re-assembling the X2 rollercoaster from Six Flags in the center of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. I will be sitting in the front car, the entire time. The rest of you can take turns. Gogo dancers have been hired to dance somewhere else. Anywhere else.

This festival will be supported and sponsored by the Illuminati, though sponsorship is limited to paying off the police and fire marshall to fuck off and bother something or someone worth bothering, like shutting down a Miley Cyrus concert or arresting rapists and murders. But not the rapists or murderers that are attending this festival. Additional financial support provided by my own fucking pocket.

Come to my party!

Hence the thread topic...

But in all seriousness, if/when I have the $$$... I'll do it... Maybe I won't be transporting rollercoasters into the Coliseum, but I'll stick to the lineup and the conditions for entry... I don't think anybody but me would take a multi-million dollar hit just to hear some great tunes and deny entry for anyone I feel is undeserving...

Erol Alkan warm up - guy is amazing live
Sasha
Chemical Brothers
Kreon
Paul kalkbrenner to finish it off!

Id happily settle for that! Havent seen kalkbrenner but I love his stuff

kalkbrenner is a good finish to any night!
i didnt use to like him very much until i saw him finish off dans dakar in stockholm in the beginning of june.
I was in a shitty mood just getting off work VJing for porter robinson who was a complete asshole (f**cking stars struck teenagers) when he completely turned my night.
also it was like the perfect setting since I was coming up on acid and a mild rain had just starting to fall creating rainbows from the first sunlight (sun rises at 02 in june in sweden) and 6 000 people in astonishment moving like clockwork to kalkbrenners love outlet.
beautiful!
