Artist: Tom Cary
Album: Grace Of The Pure Hearts
Discogs:
http://www.discogs.com/release/2279943Website:
http://www.miga-label.org/eng/miga38.htmLabel: Miga
Catalog#: Miga38
Released: 2010-03-10
Style: Folk Rock / Blues Rock / Experimental / Rock & Roll
Tracklist:
1 Holy Trinity Blues (Reprise) - The Great Beyond - To Let Down (8:02)
2 The Cups - Grace Of The Pure Hearts - Golden Fairy - Give Up - Just Arrive (14:20)
3 Guiding Light - The Morning Train (8:28)
Tom Cary are Pablo Garrido (a.k.a. Naïfloop), Francisco Verdugo and Javier Muñoz. Their first work "That’s right! Clean your soul" - produced by
Steve Albini -, together with an excellent life performance have allowed them to get a lot of prizes and to perform at important festivals all around the world. Far from the mainstream, they’ve been able to manage their work in a truly independent way.
In Rock al Parque Festival (Bogota, Colombia) the band was defined with the curious label “freecore”. Sound, performance, songs and free style. A band free from the ties of what it is established in the more and more foreseeable society of information and the jungle of tendencies. No doubt it is one of those bands regarded as having spirit and own light. They can sound close and recognizable at the same time as personal and unclassifiable. Perhaps it is in this work where it can be better appreciated that the key to their success has always been the unyielding faith the band has in their songs. A good composition by means of an unbeatable musical vehicle, that’s the key in Tom Cary’s music.
[Miga38] "Grace of the pure hearts" contains unpublished material, some material left behind from their first album and songs recorded within different studios during the tours. Ten tracks within three cuts which collect the essence of Tom Cary, that which is rarely seen in their life performances, together with wild and incendiary rituals not suitable for the uninitiated.

We feel lucky at Miga presenting this new reference, as a proper culmination of this productive 2005!! Sr. Click is former member of Inoquo netlabel, restless producer and with "real obsession for electronic experimentation".
[Miga06]"Elements" take these obsessions on four delicate and intense tracks, where you can find the expression of Sr.Click´s electronic universe: minimal beats melting with deep atmospheres, together with microscopical sounds in constant movement and harmony.
After flirting with electronic music during some years, Sr. Click aka Chuänchö, decided at the end of the 90´s to get involved on his real inclination, the production.
First djing in parties around and after making noises with some machines, always under techno or hard-techno style, he dedided to give expresion to his sensations and interests on a more serious way.
This expresion was shown on his netlabel InoQuo, founded in the beginning of 2005, together with a couple of good friends. The starting of InoQuo came influenced mainly by minimal style, which despite of various winks to house, clicks n´cuts, etc..., are always inside strict techno parameters.

Asturias is one of the smallest territories in Spain, but there is a large and interesting group of producers growing up there. It is not weird to find asturian artists working for wellknown music labels and in the course of time this territory has become into an inexhaustible source of music talents. [Miga36] V.A. "Astúries" is only a small piece of all the work that has been achieving there during the last years in behalf of the electronic music and the audiovisual culture.
A trip across Asturias that begins with Avant Folk, dubstep and IDM, finishing with dancing beats, which we hope that works to help promoting this area and the musicians who work there. The reinforce of the existing links and the creation of new ones that consolidate the audiovisual culture are being one of our priorities and we hope to get it with this new serie of compilations the we start now.
This is the very first time we make a public presentation of one of our releases. It will happen december the 11th during the Visionica 09 Fest (Oviedo).

[Miga 22] "Surface EP" is the presentation card in Miga of Hofmann, a duet from London, with a style quite far from the current trend on musical stereotypes.
A reference with four deep and progressive tracks manufactured with surgical precision, and which take us to the best tech-house forged in the fizzy british underground scene.

Hofmann is a collaboration between Robert Brett and Danny Clapham. They first met back in 1989 at the infamous nightclub RAGE at Heaven in London and shared many twisted night bus journeys home. Rob and Danny soon developed a serious passion for all things house and have both independently partied at some of the best clubs and parties all over the world.
Rob soon purchased some turntables in 1990 and started buying records developing a taste for al things techno. In the early 1990s Danny bought an apple Mac some synths and a sampler and started producing. As the 90s progressed Robs passion for djing and techno grew which led to a few gigs at various parties and clubs in London including spiral tribe and club uk. Meanwhile Danny’s passion for producing was also growing which had led to various progressive house releases under different names and work for the blue room label where he released several trax on compilations.
At the end of the 90s Rob purchased a good pc and soon started to experiment with the early audio software while Danny carried on with his hardware but began to set his sites on buying a sound system. After the millennium Danny started putting on small beach parties in Brighton which Rob and Danny played at. Soon after they both bought laptops and soon realised the potential of digital production.
Rob and Danny started meeting up for regular jams with there laptops and Danny’s hardware and started to create a sound of there own and called themselves Hofmann. With Robs dark techno influences and Danny’s house grooves a soundscape was born. Danny had found a place in west London which was ideal for free parties and decided with the help of a collective like minded party heads to start Microclimate in 2003. Hofmann have played at most of these as a live performance along side djs Terry Francis, Jamie Jones, Mathew Bushwaka, Dinky and Hector from Phonica with the music style being tech house, acid house and minimal techno.
Hofmann as a live set use 2 laptops and various controllers the unsynced performance gives there sets a live dj feel to them. Rob has almost forgotten about playing vinyl as he considers this to be much more rewarding.

Ragul has a very particular family, its members are funny and stranger beings living in perfect harmony. Some are beautiful, others are deformed but all of them have an infantile and kind spirit that makes them different.
His proposal
[Miga34] "La familia nuclear" is a pleasurable trip by the molecular structure of music, where we find lovely melodies and complex rhythmical structures, full of details and shades.
Ragul’s life starts and ends in his teens, marked by a squalid experiment, a surgical intervention which turned him into the first robotman in history. This operation reponded to great Doctor Gives’s thrist for vengeance. He used to be one of the most talented men at advanced medicine just as senator Franklind’s right hand, who was
"Segunda Corporación" founder. This organization was created to sabotage the future new worldwide order, where transnational companies rules the solar system with iron fist.
Ragul and his friends were selected, to join as a soldier, by Segunda Corporacion; but after its dissolution because of internal problems, he runned away anywhere he could remain anonymous enough to be safe, since it is hard times for sectarian and transnationals’s enemies. Reliable sources are saying he is living in a remote bunker in Barcelona. This bunker houses his clandestine laboratory, which has lots of old machines. In this place he does experiments in musical field and video production. Far from giving up, Ragul will undertake future adventures to defeat established order, like a crazy spartan.

In Moria, Lorien or even in Mordor people would be charmed of having a musician as
Firnwald to tell their feats. This bard of the XXI century is well known in the scene for his work as manager of the austrian netlabel
Laridae where he has published several releases that define the style and personality of Firnwald.
Idm epic, complex, mutating toward drum´n´bass or metal thanks to guitars, basses and instruments from the central european folklore. In
[Miga33] "Obscure Lore" we can enjoy a very developed work that includes 5 remixes of the track that gives name to this release, signed by
Kabelton, Schlangetatoo, Der Reisende, Leisure-B and
Schaua, adding more interest to this fantastic work.
-- cover design: Firnwald
Firnwald aka Stefan Aigner (1981) is an electronic / IDM artist located in Bavaria (Germany) and is cofounder of the austrian netlabel Laridae where he´d releases most of his work. He specialises in a form of IDM maybe best described as "Hectic Folklore Breaks", a combination of modern breaks and ancient instruments. A mix of folklore mingled with Drum'n bass, metal with breakbeats, classic songstructure with experimental beatprogramming.
His tracks are usually very cinematic and tell tales of the world like it once was, or atleast, how the fantesy writers deproct it in novels. The focus of the productions are complicated rhythms with tiny melodies, strange ambiency, and some kind of story (somewhere). Firnwald is influenced by bands like Ulver, Jaga Jazzist, Squarepusher, Opeth, Four Tet or Prefuse 73.

Genitopower [Miga32] "Music for camping" is the first Lp of the canarian artist
Rominger. Living in Barcelona since the end of 90´s, he has collaborated in so many different musical (Sobreimagen, Velcro) and artistic projects (Pendrive, Plug Festival).
If we talk about music styles, Rominger moves inside the huge space between pop and electronic music, creating new contrasts and musical flavours. Leo (trumpet, synth, voices) and Yeray (drums), have been able to give expressiveness and character to this work, making an album that becomes into a great introduction letter.
In
[Miga_v16] "Nice Summer" , video clip that completes this release,
Jon Herranz gives life to some of the characters that can be found in the particular world of Rominger.
Rominger is the personal project of Perdi, ex-Sobreimagen and ex-Velcro. He has collaborated in "Reset the Preset" (Console, Virgin Schallplatten 2004), project of Martin Grestschmann (Console, the Notwist, 13&God), with whom he joins a great friendship. He has also been part of the project with his friend Adhesive, participating in several festivals under thename of Adhesive Vs Rominger. He is now part of the project
Skeleotronic, of Leonardo Torres and Lou Batteri. Rominger is the world that Perdi recreates beside Leo (trumpet, synth, voices) and Yeray (drums).
The discourse of this band goes from the pop to electronics. Although with a very particular and recognizable sound, they are almost indefinable musically. Their live act s almost a circus show.
In 2005 they were finalists in the Villa de Bilbao contest. Rominger has published "Ofelia", with the Californian label
Vocoid; "Bambu (this is not the punk version)" in VVAA - Rouge Cafe (Rouge Cafe, Barcelona); "Naties day" for
Pendrive; and its first LP "Music for camping" for
Miga Netlabel (Granada, Spain).
www.myspace.com/romingerband Jon Herranz began in the world of the image interesting by the photograph. After some years of investigation and self-taught learning passes to the cinema with the shooting of the short film “El principio del fin”. At present mixes his interest by both disciplines.
We could define his line of work like an investigation and constant experimentation in the new technologies of the photograph and the video that bases in the simplification of resources and in the self-touhgtlearning like a tool to obtain autonomous products and of quality.
His second and last work has been the videoclip realized for the group of electronic music
Rominger. At present prepares a documentary on political and social actuality of the Sahara Occidental.

Betelgeuse, a duet formed by José Antonio Serrano (Every No One / Noisome) and David Ortolà (Lontano), appeared first with "Kontakte EP" (Kontakte Records) on 2006, having great success.
We are pleased to present their second work [Miga18] "Izvorni kod". An EP which allow us to enjoy with the quality of their compositions. Starting from complex rhythm structures they create a very fresh and full of details electronic music. We are sure you will like it.
Betelgeuse, duo consisting of Jose Antonio Serrano (Every No One / Noisome) y David Ortolà (Lontano / Factor City), mixes every music influence using huge palettes of different sounds and compositive techniques in a fundamental search for soundscapes and sensations which don’t leave anybody indifferent.
After one track included in a spanish movie (“Dripping”, by Vicente Monsonís) and several cd-demos, excellent reviews for their works in a number of european music labels did come –amongst them Kitty-Yo (Berlin), Pork Recordings (New Yorkshire, UK), K2O (Kamzlerant, Berlin), Amgstrong (Toulousse, France), Expading (London) or spa.RK (Barcelona)–. These labels spoke with them about the chances of release them but eventually didn’t do because of the crisis of music sales. So then Betelgeuse opened their own label, Kontakte, along with Chelis, (Robot / El Megáfono), and released in 2006 “Kontakt” EP, maxisingle acclaimed by the reviews which also had a remix by DJ Rupture (Soot Records). Two of the most significant reactions were the election as fourth best spanish single of the year 2006 by the spanish top magazine Rockdelux, and to have been Top Single Recommendation at Warp’s website.
They have just released “Izvorni Kod” for the netlabel Miga. And in the next months we will be able to enjoy their first album: “Silencio”, for Kontakte, and a remix for Monoceros (Imaginary Nonexistant Records / Expading / spa.RK).
Also in a experimental dance style, they have remixed “Más que una Bendición” for Fangoria (Subterfuge, 2003) and “Load Cassette”, for Aerobic Studio (Aerobic Studio, 2005). Their style has been tried to define as «collage pop of electronic abstraction» (“History of Rock in the Comunidad Valenciana”, Raül Serrador, Ed. AvantPress).
Their live debut was at Electro 2m5 Festival in Zaragoza and have also played in the Observatori Festival, and in the venue Umbracle in the City of Science and Art in Valencia.

Juanjo Fernández (Gnomalab) The new
Miga´s release is a compact proposal of
Texas Sci-Fi project, a group based on experimentation, frequencies exploration, analogic errors and the synchronization between audio and video rhythms. For this complete release,
[Miga31] "Figures / Frequencies", they has composed a collection of pieces created from pictoric works of minimalist artists from the twentieth century.
We also accompain this audio reference with the visual piece
[Miga_v15] "10 x10 x2 Cubes in blue", that acts like a window allowing us to focus on the work of this interesting group whose maximum advantage is been reflected in its powerfull live act.
Texas Sci-fi is formed at the very beginning of 2008 in Terrassa, a suburban town on the outskirts of Barcelona, Spain. The members of the band are three, Juanjo Fernández and Miki Martínez, two friends who shared an Indie pop project not long ago, together with Miki’s brother Rafa Martinez.
They all work also in other parallel projects with which they have released some albums for several Spanish and international labels. With Texas Sci-fi they put together their best to create, this time, an audiovisual project full of strength, minimalism forcefulness and analogue experimentation. They use a long list of analogue synthesizers in their performances to doing so -Moog, Korg, Roland- combined with other vintage machinery that injects a direct input in the creation of amazing live visuals.
As they use to say, they make “dance minimal sounds with experimental doses of impossible frequencies, white noise, clicks, cuts an bleeps”. A complex sound arisen from footswitches and other electronic stuff that gives shape to a perfect audiovisual synchronisation. The name of their first album is “Cold Landscapes”, a conceptual work for which they create original soundtracks for different cities, always trying to seek the parallelism with geometrical shapes.

Damián Disfrutón Integral: Every single part of the whole / Which is in its composition, but not being essential, so the whole can still survive -although incomplete-without it.
This is what represents this third and last part of out trilogy, the importance of the individual and its interaction to create a whole. The need of diversity we are living in, inside a global world plane and monotonous, where proposals out of the market rules are taking once even less space.
So thanks again for the collaboration from a big group of artists who aimed to offer the best of themselves to create this two volumes for
[Miga30] "Integral". With them we just want to keep offering the music we like.

OtoOto is such a character. He produce and design his works, released under different italian netlabels, achieving with time his confident style, fed mainly with old fashioned sounds generated by computer and video games with 8 bits processors.
On this canvas, Oto is able to give several colours to his music. On
[Miga29] "Tina Pica" goes along the electro and IDM with loads of subtlety and class, showing that even though he can sometimes look childlike, his music is made by a mature artist.
Marco Puccini (
Oto) starts to approach music langauges after his long collaboration with the Theatre Company Krypton (one of the most vanguard and popular theatre company in Italy in the ‘80s) for which he realized sounds tracks of the shows ("Iconoclast" in collaboration with

Dr. FogestronFranco Bianco is from Argentina, but now is living in Switzerland. His music experimented a huge growing in the last years, due to the multiple works released in different labels and netlabels, making possible his positioning in the more and more saturated dance music scene.
His main argument is to be original when he face these tasks, very groovy and fresh minimal with percussions and samples going out from the current trendy minimal style, which will help us with
[Miga28] "Origenes" on the way through this hot summer.
Talking about about Minimal Techno or only Techno, and Argentinian artists,is not possible to exclude the path of the young man
Franco Bianco.
With only 21 years, he had a presentation in the festival "Telecom Personal Fest" where shared decks with artists and bands as
Death in Vegas,
Morrisey,
2 many djs,
Primal Scream,
Pet Shop Boys[/b],
Rinôçérôse and
Soul Wax among others.
This allowed him to jump into the musical Argentine scene ,that gave him many tours inside Argentina, the Uruguayan coasts and a lot of club residences in Buenos Aires.
Speaking about Radio shows in Argentina, Franco has passed along the best FMs of his Country (X4 and MetroDance 95.1).
His first EP was invited to join one of the more important radio shows of Argentina; as Rock n Pop FM, Nino Dolce's show (Playboy TV), and also he tuned into his own radio show whose guests that took part live:
Someone Else,
Seph,
Omar Salgado and
Barem, with live interviews and live sets too.
He played as DJ in the best parties, nightclubs and festivals of Buenos Aires during the last 5 years (Nicetto, Codigo Pais Festival, Lost, Faena Hotel, among others).
In 2007, he have been remixed by artists as
Sarah Goldfarb,
Seuil,
Bern,
David Last,
Suz and
Someone Else; had a huge tour which began Australia, including 12 european countries, Egypt and Russia; with a total of 32 presentations " Live! " throughout 4 months. During his dates he played "Transoceanico Live!", and he passed by the prestigious and mythical FUSE of Brussels as Headliner in the month of August, between other clubs. He had the honor of play together with
Steve Bug,
Matthew Jhonson and
Marco Carola.
Franco has releases, remixes and collaborations in labels such as
Unfoundsound,

Sarge GrafXNext stop, Sevilla. Where Jesús Sánchez aka
Burdeos is waiting to present us [Miga27] "Pangea E.P.", a reference containing eight tracks which can be read as only one with a transition between Drill´n bass and breakcore.
Strange and tense ambients, where Burdeos move smoothly recalling places that only science fiction can describe.
Burdeos, also known as Agua Oxigenada, is one of the surnames used by Jesús Sánchez to let his passion for the art go in multiple shapes. Born in Jaen but living for ages in Sevilla, he grow listening hip hop from his brother Lijero, between sprays and fanzines. Started developing electronic musical passion in 2000, and after started to produce his first compositions based on the sound by Warp, Planet Mu, Skam or Rephlex.
Obsessive with concepts like abstraction, glitchs or the emotion, he creates a more and more ellaborated music, always searching for his own sound to be expressed. Member together with Kinki Boy from 100% cool, his music is a line crossed with different peaks: Hip Hop, Idm, Drill´n bass, breakcore, Old school, 90´s… always with a vintage taste, walking between synthetic and organic.

NökeöAll the pieces of this reference are based on the license

Iñaqui starts at firsts 90´s triying to make music like his idols with Jupiter second hand synth and an Atari computer. In some months, he received a good offer to work in a studio with some good professionals and it´s a nice time to learn tecnical production and starts to release some techno pop tracks in different labels.
In all his life, he was interested in all the possible styles related to electronic sounds (E.B.M, synth pop, acid, etc etc) arriving to now, when he is manofactouring a personal fussion between some influences, in Regular we say he makes E.B.M: Electro Body Minimal.
His productions see the light in Regular in 2004 with Regular 04. and shows what can offer to the world, and now is his consagration with the release of Klinischtod, the first album of Iñaqui showing all his influences and his strong personality. An album release it at final of february 2005, and sure it will be in the charts for the dj´s over the world.
Iñaqui it´s a part of the Regular crew since a lot of time a go, Iñaqui and Jaume are friends from they where childs, and also togheter will offer a new live act for final 2005, with Jaume singing some tracks and with other surprises.
The release of his album Klinischtod around the world is every day bigger. The track “u can´t scape” is for example inside the new Fabric 23 compilation mixed by Ivan Smagge, and the tracks are included in the best charts of dj´s over the world.

MurfyBorn in Malaga, Sr. Aye is the autor of this new creation in Miga-Label.org.
[Miga 01] "Ceros y unos" is a gathering of electronic pieces with a “no closed” scheme.
A nice journey throughout various styles (downtempo, minimal, abstract hip hop...) where he is able to show his full-detailed way of producing and give some ideas about how powerful his live sets are.
As visual support, you also have a 3D imaged video from Cinemátiko, specially made for the tune that gives the name to the reference.
Sr. Aye is the first lemur to have been born in Los Boliches (Málaga-Spain), although his niche within the global ecosystem is found in Granada. He is a nocturnal animal, endowed with night vision and an outstanding hearing capacity.
For almost a decade, he has been collecting and storing sounds from his urban environment, to be used in times of sound shortage. The core of his sound is experimental hip-hop, although he often switches to other milieus, such as downtempo or minimal.
In 2004 he joined other artists to form the Miga collective and the netlabel miga-label.org, a platform for the promotion and free distributionof audiovisual work. Their first production available on the site was the EP [Miga01] "Ceros y Unos". This was followed by "SpaccaNapoli" (2006), published at the netlabel Plataforma-LTW. This year he will be collaborating in the labels Minuendo, Avionix, Homeworks and Miga.
He has offered many live performances: NetAudio06 Festival (London), Observatori 2007 (Valencia), Electrosplash 06 (Burriana, Castellón), Zemos98 (Seville), M.A.R.T.E. Festival (Picasso Museum Auditorium, Málaga), Kick the Trash (Círculo de Bellas Artes, Madrid), Elektronikaldia Festival 2005 (San Sebastián)...
Sr.Aye works to offer a different live set on every single gig, trying to renew with the rhythm marked by the weather seasons.

Naïfloop show us [Miga04]"Between", a creation full of little electronic and instrumental details, sweet melodies and intense sensations.
This reference is the most close to "song scheme" production he has made, and he had the help and collaboration from a group of musicians, being remarkable the excellent work from people like Javier Morillas and Francisco Barrionuevo on drums and guitar, and Lucia Jurado on strings.
Naïfloop (Pablo Garrido), together with this group, made several live acts in 2002, such as the show with Arto Lindsay on AV Festival and the finals at "Villa de Bilbao".
This reference is a contrast point on the music offered by Miga till the moment.
Naïfloop is Pablo Garrido (Málaga-Spain), always working to create his own new vision for rhythm and noise... From Cole Porter´s orchester pieces mixed with digital dub, to the extreme experimental digital noise, psicodelic pop or country western.
Since 1998 has participated in several festivals, such as AV Festival, Espárrago Rock or Nova Pop. He has also been finalist and semi finalist on big contests like "Villa de Bilbao" or "Demo Project", and has been on the line up with artists like Stereolab, Arto Lindsay, Fibla o 12 Twelve.

Our first proposal for 2006, is the reference [Miga07] "Indrómina ep" from Estado Avanzado (Extremadura, Spain), which drives Miga to a more experimental side.
Three tracks that approaches to the most delicate and warm ambient and IDM, as a sign of the way this duet feel the music, on the most fearless field on today´s electronic music.
The duet Estado Avanzado showed up in early 2005, with the union of two distant but similar projects.
Their first live-act came on Maquinarte Festival 2005 in Badajoz (Spain), sharing line up with people like .tape., Rec_Overflow or Fibla. Later in August 2005, they self-released their promo "001", and also were supporting band of the versatile Justo Bagüeste.
Influenced from classic labels like Warp or Merck to the most post-rock sounds and noise like Mogwai, Arab Strap or Sonic Youth, they condider themselves like fanatics of Autechre, and they try to be on the avantgarde of the new electronic sounds.

Close to our first anniversary, our catalogue starts to be consolidated with the arrival of Rec_Overflow, a producer from Madrid, half focused on stages and half on studio. For dj sets, selfcalled as Mix_Overflow and mutating to Rec_Overflow / Tec_Overflow on live or studio productions.
The eclectic character of this reference [Miga08] "Rec vs Tec" is well expressed on these six intense tracks, which go smoothly between minimal and IDM, and also with some electro and clicks and cuts remarks... This is a real present.
Rec_Overflow / Mix_Overflow / Tec_Overflow(Spa.RK / Plataforma-LTW / Error)
Rec_Overflow is the ace combining languages from IDM to Miami Bass glitchy or redefining the hip hop, making good use of plug-ins, the DSP (Digital Sound Processing) and crunchy rhythms combined with a personal use of melodies and wet rhythm structures that grants unique personality to his sound. Tec_Overflow looks the same, but with one eye on the dancefloor and other on the listener´s mind. Mix_Overflow is the mixing of all the previous with more or less known electronic talents.
Former and manager of the web concept Plataforma-LTW.com, where he has released LTW0001 "Error" (named Error, together with Vleizes), LTW0004 "Lptpvrflw", LTW0005 "Prsnl Cmptr Wrks" in CD-R format, and on the NetLabel LTWNET0002 "Live at Klubben", LTWNET0004 "Doomed EP", LTWNET0008 "Drug_store", LTWNET0005 "139 Reboot?" y LTWNET0007 "ATMPRL.EP3", these last two under his pseudonym Error. The arising of online compilations or the edition of SZ0001 "KlangMaschine" Live, on the french label Signa-zero, demonstrate that Rec_Overflow, Mix_Overflow, Tec_Overflow, Error, ErrorVisualSupport, etc... cannot stop working for a long time!
He has been in venues and festivals like Circulo de Bellas Artes, Rokolectiv (Bucharest) Hive Festival (Liverpool), Colegio San Juan Evangelista, Kathmandú, Benicassim 2001/03, Campus Party 2003, Arco 2001/03 , Recycled Sound, After Arco 2001/02/03, Tendencias Post-digitales, Klubben, Festival Internacional de Música Electroacústica, Rephlex 2005, Soma Club, Sala Apollo, La Casa Encendida, Daf Lab, Colonial, KlangMaschine, Sonar 2004/05, Sonikas 2001/02, Werk, Photoespaña 2004, Dissonant 2001/02, etc...

Stefan Eipeltauer After a short break, we are striking back with the second international release [Miga09] "Trisonomie E.P.", from the austrian trio Winterstrand. Definetely a warm, happy and close job from these three brothers, with a direct language, taking us to sound landscapes formed by IDM, downbeat & ambient.
The gathering of the whole creation gets a new dimension, thanks to the sum of each track´s values. You can see also the video for the track [Miga_v07] "Trisonomie 4".
Three brothers, risen from the same passionate blood that now is responsible for each one´s passion for music, grew up in the southern countryside of nowhere. Soundscapes, heavy breaks, relaxed (but never loungy) rhythms combined with a melodic intensity generate a timeless feeling while getting acoustically irradiated with their unique style of music.
A feeling everyone can relate to his/her childhood. Besides the influences of early 90ies electronic, folk, jazz, oldschool hiphop and early jungle, they use loads of samples from a huge amount of tapes that they recorded themselves from the mid-80ies to the mid-90ies - self-referentially to involve personal experiences and memories they had during their early record-sessions in their music. Back in those days they created a whole wide and pretty extraordinary spectrum of sounds with tape recorders, percussion stuff, radios, keyboards, guitars, self-made instruments and any other things, as long as they were cheap, exciting and useful.

AstromerkExponencial is the way the netlabel scene is growing. You can see more artist, media, and people interested in this form of understanding of audiovisual culture.
With this premise, we wanted to gather artists from different countries to follow with new relationships, new works, and on top, to displace the music from the strict current media market.
On this work you can find what we considerate as the fundamentals ways on electronic music: the listening and the dance. More than two hours of minimal house, minimal techno, idm, ambient, abstract hip hop, downtempo and others unclassified styles. Without them, it could not be possible to understand to they´s music.

After their consolidation as one of the best live acts on the spanish scene, here comes [Miga11] "Esquemático", the first release of the spanish duet Intelec. Enjoy with these five tracks, plus a very special Animatek remix of the track "Smog".
Minimal sounds in capitals, full of intensity and with an excellent production.
Now living in Granada (Spain), Intelec start their musical relation at the end of 2003. Their sharp live sets are electronic exercises for dancing and mental stimulation, minimalistic sound puzzles feed by influences like techno, electro, idm... always chasing new formulas to keep developing with no specific relation with any labeled music style.
They have been playing throughout the spanish geography and even abroad, sharing line up with artists like Richie Hawtin, Stewart Walker, Karl Bartos, Jon Gaiser, Nathan Fake, Frank Martiniq, Oliver Hacke, Murcof, Metope, Dave Tarrida, Pablo Bolivar, ...
In October 2005 they won the 1st place at the national contest 1er Premio Caja España de Música Electrónica.
Their first releases appeared inside the Miga catalogue, on the compilations [Miga10] "Exponencial" and [Miga20] "Tangencial", and on two of the most downloaded releases up to date: [Miga11] "Esquemático" and [Miga19] "Giro". New tracks came for other new digital platforms such as Minuendo Electrónico, Plataforma LTW or the italian netlabel Homeworks Recordings. At the end of 2007 they release their first vinyl release on the label Software Records from Madrid.

www.miga-label.org [miga12]The better way to start the new electronic season is with "Detalles", the new work released from Paper aka Pablo Bolivar, from Santander (Spain). He follows with his compromise with different netlabels, after the big internacional success made with his first LP called "Anjanas" (Regular, 2006).
[Miga12] "Detalles" is a very personal and faithful reflection of Paper sound, space deep, acid grooves... in sum, four tracks transmitting beyond the dancefloor, taking us to the deepest dreams of digital pads...
Paper a.k.a. Pablo Bolivar, dj and producer from Cantabria, started with music very young, being his first radio editions and dj sets in Santander, focused on electronic music since 1996. After a good impulse to this kind of music in Santander, he moves to Barcelona searching new ideas and shapes, playing at clubs and festivals all around Spain and some european places. In 2003 he won the prize for the most risky proposal at Bilbo-Rock Festival in Bilbao. Definetely he was different...
He produces for Regular Label, where in january 2006 released his first LP on his own "Anjanas", a work full of electronic dance tracks and experimental music. We can also find other jobs under the name of Paper on labels like Minuendo, Software, Pulsewith, Galaktika, Dpress, Justified Cause... and also made several remixes for different artists.
Nowadays he lives in Barcelona where he works for Decodermuzique, worldwide electronic music dealer and booking agency.
On his live sets he try to express his particular vision of electronic music: warm, precise, nice to hear, in crescendo until his unique shape in deep sound of dance music. Also his dj sets are full of creativeness, mixing the latest records with the classic tunes, on very special atmospheres.

Our fetish artist comes back! The new release from Naïfloop for Miga makes shorter the waiting time for his second LP, expected for 2007. [Miga13] "Two Colours" is a compilation of his very first demos ("Some seconds from", "Hearst" and "Identity") coming from 1997-2000 period. Seminal and instrumental versions from some tracks that later would be part of [Miga 04] "Between" and some others ruled out from his first album and rescued from the old trunk.
Four track electronic music, very few use of software and with his particular arsenal of analogic synths, casiotone loops, organ & rhythm pads. This is the first B sides of Naïfloop and also the first B sides from Miga, rescued due to its special lo-fi charm and its non temporal beauty.

Miga keeps betting for new artists looking for a place to expose their work, just like Achecorporation, a musician from Madrid who presents [Miga14] "Velice EP", five intense tracks of an intimist IDM, with full light spaces, contrasting with cold moments, full of pads and psycodelic synths.
We keep growing, thanks to the support of both stablished artists and young newcomers which give its unique character to this project.
Achecorporation (Sergio Torres) is a young producer from Madrid, who started with electronic music recording his tracks in a home made way, with guitars, keyboards and software, although nowadays he added some hardware to create a very particular IDM.
Achecorporation started to distribute his own music through home recorded promo CD´s which step by step had good feedback from Madrid´s underground scene.
Now he is collaborating with other musician called Attachedhands, co-fundator of the label "Not without your spacehelmet", oriented mainly to indie and post rock music in Florida. Moreover he has been recently participating on the recording of Kodama´s first release, on Junk records.
His experience in blues/funk, trip hop or synth punk bands, helped him a lot to be part of live sets with people like Attachedhands or I´m Scared.
Apart from this [Miga14] "Velice EP" he edited a very interesting work called "Dcadnz", influenced by Warp artists, the IDM of end nineties, Skam Records, Planet Mu, Rephlex, Ninja Tune or Anticon.

Luis Rozalén is one of the most prolific Spanish producers. Since end of 80´s he has been working on different projects like "Ballet Mecanico" or "Mo´Septomber", which led to HD Substance, his most known alter ego, and the middle of 90´s.
Today he is presenting us [Miga15] "Corteza", with an "old school" sound, generated by synths, grooveboxes, and a varied hardware arsenal. Pure eclecticism full of electro and Detroit sounds are the key of this fantastic LP, being Miga suggestion to start this new year 2007.
Luis Rozalén aka HD Substance has been exposed to electronics since late eighties, he bought his first synth in 1987 and formed a band called Ballet Mecánico, heavy sinthy pop influenced.
After travelling to London he discovers acid house and LFO, then came Detroit with all the first UR releases and Transmat. Heavily shocked, he decides to start as a dj after a Kenny Larkin show in the first Sonar Festival 1995.
Now he regularly plays all over the place and in the best Festivals. Soon after he creates his first own label Miranda Records, and stars releasing in other labels from all over the world.
His primal succes comes in the form of Atlas label. During three years he creates a trademark of techno sound, appreciated by key dj´s worldwide, as Carl Cox (regularly charting his tunes), Garnier or Hawtin.
His new child comes in three parts, the new label SHAREWARE and her sisters HARDWARE and SOFTWARE.

[Miga16] "Overflow Remains" is the name of the latest Miga proposal. Its author, Jose Jünemann aka Zigarettenpause, show us the approach to his work through three tracks which invite to relaxed listening and reflection.
Zigarettenpause has his own language, impregnating every work independently from his style (IDM, minimal, downtempo,...). Intense rhythms with smooth melodies taking us to enjoy with this artist´s universe.
This proposal is completed with a video clip based on the track "Tuesday arrivals" [Miga_v08], produced by Pia Moure from Chile and based in Barcelona, who apply his visual concepts on different artistic disciplines.
With a laptop that allmost fits in his knapsack and a minicontroller that I keep in a wood box, I fuse abstract sources of sound, analogous as much as digital, creating warm atmospheres and sonorous spaces of reflection.
As drumer and producer I have participated in the bands Mota, Paltrio, Kim Novak and in Dpendiente and numeros colectives.
As Zigarettenpause, I have produced three EP’s and diferent livesets exploring styles like idm, mínimal, maximal and have performed in some of the most important clubs in Barcelona such as the Daf club, the Felinni club, the Loft club, Convent de Sant Agusti, in the C3 bar of the CCCB, the NIUbcn and also in Santiago de Chile, performing at the Amanda club, the Bar Central and the Sala Master concert room, where the performance was broadcasted by the University of Chile’s radio station.
At the moment the project is being released by Pauze Recordings, London, UK and now in Miga.

Here comes the [Miga17] "Invierano" (word combination with Invierno "winter" and Verano "summer", the weather season which remind us something is happening on our environment. This is the concept Alex Cortex wants to transmit on this new work for Miga.
Conceptual and hipnotic minimal techno, far from stereotypes, this is one of the most personal works released on our netlabel.
More than ten years as producer guarantee the quality of this artist, who already released with labels like Kanzleramt, Klang Elektronik or Pathmusick, where Alex followed his own way out from the big commercial markets, to become an artist with unique and consequent vision of the music scene.
Alexander Neumann a.k.a. Alex Cortex edited his first work "Tubed" in the label Source records (1996). Since then he has released on important labels such as Kanzleramt, 800trak, Klang Elektronik or Shitkatapult.
His music is focused on the dancefloor, but on his long career he also collaborated on many different projects, from soundtracks to compilations, co-productions together with artists like Loopaz, T.Raumschmiere and a lot of own projects.
Nevertheless, you cannot say Alex works on one single style, due that his tracks are full of hints going from minimal techno german oriented to downtempo or ambient, influenced by jazz, hip hop, electro or IDM.
During all this time, he has been performing in countries everywhere, and his netlabel Phatmusik became a quality guaranteed showroom for new artists.

Intelec bets for a change of record with [Miga19] "Giro", a work that shows the search of new ways and forms of expression in their music, which moves away from etiquettes and from prejudices at the moment of confronting a work.
A fine mixture of IDM and ambient give life to these six tracks that demonstrate the good one to do of this resident duo in Granada, which into this second reference in Miga new faces incorporate into their great prism.

In a tangential way, the way followed by Miga until today, is touching a big circle of artists who made possible this proposal.
Now three volumes to keep creating new bindings, trying to show the potential of the netlabel as a promotion platform and betting for proyects which not many conventional labels would even consider.
The fusion of the experience from confirmed artist with the enthusiasm of young promises has been one of the principal formulas proposed from Miga. In [Miga20] "Tangencial" we are proud of having the chance to count with people who are since a few years demostrating their profesionality and good works. As a perfect complement, a good number of artists, who are part of the future of electronic scene in out from our frontiers.

After the great success with his work [Miga08]"Rec_vs_Tec", Luis Parra aka Tec_Overflow is back with [Miga21] "I Chng", a declaration of principles which shows the seek for a constant change and evolution in the work of this versatile artist.
A new LP with a different taste, but without changing the formula which made Tec_Overflow one of the most representative names on the Spanish scene. Complex dance music, really dark and loaded with grooves. Another high profile production to start the new electronic course on the right footing...
Rec_Overflow / Mix_Overflow / Tec_Overflow
(Spa.RK / Plataforma-LTW / Error)

The
No More -music komite - project arise from the collaboration of F. Calderon with different artists and groups. Starting from the compiled material in many recording sessions,
Calde gives us this [Miga26] "Folk Hero", which combines the very best of these collaborations in four pieces.
Warm double-basses, strings, voices and wind instruments give a rich shape to this creation, making it approachable to all kind of public. All this is completed with an excellent production, and a very particular looking which presents
No More -music komite- as one of the most kicking newcomers from the andalusian scene.
Collective project arising from many recording sessions, being after processed and transformed by F.Calderón (
Calde), with loads of musicians known along his career as member of several bands like Henry, Dub Explosion Soundsystem, Ursula, El hombre burbuja,... as highlight, the sessions with
Chuchi Cabral playing the counterbass and
Rafa Musthapa playing trumpets, being this formation the current for live sets, together with
Julio aka Coolershaker and F.Calderón taking care of the effects and electronic arrangements.
No more -music komite- is a musical project focused on the audiovisual field; creating several soundtracks, where we can note the one for the awarded documental film "Maldita Calle" (2004) or "Incha Allah" (2003) and the credits music of the co-production spanish & peruan "Canone, el árbol de la vida" (2002)... also to name the recently created video for the Octopus french skate collective "Roue Libre" (2008).
Back in 2005 together with some designers and video artists from Cádiz they built the audiovisual & design experimentation workshop
Emotive project, performing various projects, where we can highlight: -several multimedia installations: "Versus", exposed in several places, such as CAAC in Sevilla, Amsterdam, Vigo, ... "Orgánicos" inside the XLIII Plastic Arts Meeting Caja San Fernando in Sevilla. -compositions for a series of different motion-videos, some of them selected for different animation and short-film festivals inside and outside Spain ("Helvetica", "Big bang", "Soñando Sueños", "La belleza del caoss"), the theme for the first GAZ-MAG multimedia magazine DVD, etc... -video show Looping Safari created for the Dance Festival in Cádiz.
Among his parallel projects, there is
Dub Explosion Soundsystem (formed in Gent, Belgium in 2002 together with J.Puyana) which is currently finishing the recording of their first vinyl together with McFlare (Germany) and Saimn I (Belgium), and the web about musical creation and exchange
Amplicrew.

As the end of our mini-series dedicated to the most focused sounds to the dancefloor, appears [Miga23] "The Sun E.P.", first release from Bertech (Murcia, Spain) in Miga. A new quality step from this young artist, after his great job at Irdial Music.
It is quite complicated to decide which is the best of these five tracks, due that this EP grows in every listen, shaping a fresh, energic and very elaborated. We had a very good feeling about it and we find him as one of the most talented artists in the orbit of the new producers.
Check out the way we start 2008!
Alberto is the name of this dj/producer from Murcia (Spain), working since 2003 in some of the best clubs of Spain. Resident and owner of Reset, one of the most renowned clubs of its zone, this young dj has shared booth with artists like Christian Varela, Bando, Dave Clarke, Michel de Hey, John Carter, JL Magoya, Jesús Ortega…
As a producer, with his minimal techno, hypnotic and full rythm and groove, he always tries to make people dance and have fun, his two keys for a good production.
Now, he’s working with Irdial as Reflexno and with regular labels like Moss Music (as Locomidi) or Permissive Records (as Bertech). You can find too a digital release called “Levantah”, working with C-Mix, from the formation Loiter, in stores like Codigo Records.

TereloFrom Chile here comes Danieto and his "Ciencias Incultas EP". An explosive cocktail full of intense melodies and broken rhythms.
Starting from a wide musical registry, Danieto develops his sound eclecticism fusioning IDM, Abstract Hip Hop, dub and downtempo on equal parts, to create his nice and close music.
Daniel Nieto from Chile, Danieto aka ADN & Skipsapiens (together with Pier Bucci), started at the end of 90´s to produce his own music, influenced by the english intelligent techno scene.
His first productions came out in the label Ojo de Apolo (Chile) under the name of ADN, where he released his album "Granel", the EP "Hormiga" (both in 2000). Also on this label, he participated with two tracks on two different compilations: "Coda 05" (2000) and "Coda 09" (2002).
On 2001, with the name Skipsapiens he edited a same called album under the belgian label U-cover, and recently a limited series of 95 CD-R called "Evolución al Origen" (2004) which gathers his best seven tracks produced between 1999 and 2003, where you can hear a more analogic but truly updated sound.
He also remixed a Process track called "Serial Algorithm of Genetic Mutations", appearing at the compilation "RE´Processed, Interkontinentale Remixes" (2002) in the german label Traum, and another remix of Ontayso, included in the compilation "Re-mixed, Re-worked, Re-constructed and Re-invented Part One" (U-Cover, 2002).
In 2004, together with Claudio Cisterna, as part of the fondart project (supported by the government of Chile), he founded the netlabel www.impar.cl, where he has 3 productions, full of rythmic and warm experimentations.
In 2005 launches his first LP on the belgian label U-Cover, called "Cirugía Casual" and together with Pier Bucci the record "Skipsapiens-eco" with the label Mutek.rec. Also he remixes the track "Compacto" (pn003) of Hans Carstens for Pueblo Nuevo. On this period the perform varied shows in Guadalajara, Mexico DF, Montreal, Valparaiso,... all of them under the mutek label.
Follow his new surprises at www.impar.cl, Pueblo Nuevo (Agranelado), and his two recent records under U-cover "Contemplación de la vida Inerte" and "Danieto + Flipper".
