Review:
Socialist Republic of Torrentech is presenting the best tracks choosen from 9 previous releases, in the form of a mix. I'm seriously in love with these tracks, and there's not much more that I can tell about them, except maybe that this mix is really eclectic, like all the previous Best Of mixes. Once again I wish to say thanks to all the contributing artists for sharing their inspiration with us and adopting the fact that the music is free, no matter what some may say. Let them live in their blinded world... Until they (hopefully) learn to appreciate basic freedoms and computer technology. P2P is everybody's friend.

Review:
Old school drum & bass listeners will love the classic sound on the debut album by Shivaxi. After several good listens I can only say it's a hell of a good start for this young producer. There are two faces of Instrumentally Challenged: Black & White, successfully depicting the feel you get while listening, and showing the way Shivaxi is seeing darker and lighter moods of dnb. It's not much of experimentation, but what's good about this album is that it's really the definition of drum & bass, and it's always good to explore the roots.
Message from author:
Big ups to everyone who supported me throughout the years with my music creation. I probably wouldn't of released this without everyone irking me to finally release something. This is a compilation of many different tunes I have done over the years, starting back in 2006 when I was 15, to now in 2010, which I am now 18 going on 19 in about a month. I chose the name Instrumentally Challenged because it's true. I can sorta play the piano, and kind of the drums, but that's about it. And everything you hear in this album was digitally composed via Reason 4.
I first got into Drum & Bass when I was 14 by my friend Evan, and the first thing I ever heard was The Tide by Noisia. I was instantly hooked. Then next year in school, my Social Studies teacher Mr. Epstein showed me Reason, and taught me how to use it. Ever since then, I've been making music non-stop.
I certainly hope to have more releases in the future, and hopefully this release will get me out into the scene more, as I'm kind of unknown by like 99% of the DnB scene =P. Big thanx again to everyone who supported me, and I hope you enjoy this album as much as I did making it =)

Review:
So here it is, the openning release for Torrentech netlabel. Our field of interest is electronic music, and be free to contact us if you want your stuff to be heard worldwide. One more thing: our music is free for download, because we believe the music is no business, it's art.
Customer's "Checkout Line" is a beautiful mixture of IDM and Downtempo vibes, very nice for easy in-house listening. A bit of melancholy and sadness, packed in some kind of happy and simple outfit. It's a weird combination, and possibly because of that, this music just works, giving you the feeling that artist gave you exactly what he wanted to.
Message from authors:
Customer began by accident in late 2002. We were in college, living in dorm rooms and writing songs to amuse ourselves and our friends. Today, we continue to make music for these reasons. However, since those days our music has remained largely confined to our computers, our rooms, and our headphones. With this release we look forward to once again sharing it with our friends.
We have been working on this album for longer than I care to admit and throughout the process the music has grown with us. For this album, we wound up returning largely to our original efforts (despite hundreds of song-ettes and remixes). They seem to capture something for us and maybe something about us. The songs are straightforward, simple, childish, optimistic, and always a little sad. Just like us. This album is a salute to unfounded optimism. it goes out to the childish and the sad. We hope you like it.

Album: Quasars & Pulsars
Discogs:

Catalog#: TT031
Released: 2010-05-28
Style: Dub / IDM / Dubstep / Ambient / Downtempo / Breaks
Tracklist:
1 Pulsars (9:29)
2 Pulsars (Josh Winiberg Remix) (7:46)
3 Pulsars (Dark Invader Remix) (6:20)
4 Quasars (5:53)
Video "Quasars & Pulsars" in .mov is included!
Review:
Re-Drum's new release is here. Yeah, pure quality is expected and he surely didn't let us down! Two original tracks and two nice remixes by Josh Winiberg and Dark Invader are stretching from IDMish Downtempo, via IDM, to some crossover between Dubstep and Breaks and finally closing with pure Dub. So it's pretty much of a variety, but still giving us the same consistent vibe while consuming it. Standardly amazing as all previous works, this album is very well worth listening. A nice video for both original tracks is included.
Message from author:
The pulsar, a rapidly spinning neutron star, was discovered in 1967 by Antony Hewish and Jocelyn Bell. Together the pair detected electromagnetic radiation being ôbroadcastö at regular intervals, which they believed might have been signals from aliens. Quasars also emit radio waves and radiation but are not technically stars. TheyÆre said to be starlike because they emit light. In fact, they are the brightest objects in the universe, more luminous than several thousand galaxies put together.
My aim, with this EP, was to tell the story of these two entities. The pulsating vibe and spacious sounds for Pulsars, the high level of energy in Quasars. It can be a bit difficult to define the style of this EP, it's between Dub, Downtempo, Ambient and Techno with a 2-stepy remix by Dark Invader. Some people may have noticed that Josh Winiberg (Flint Eastwood at tT) and me are often working together. In fact, we are collaborating in a new album under the name of "Carbon Robots"... and it's gonna be sick! Stay tuned, a taste of the new album is coming with a little introduction video.
Also, I've included a video featuring the original mixes, allowing you to have a full audiovisual experience of the EP. Another release is planned with Dark Invader's netlabel Ground:zero (@facebook), featuring a remix of Quasars.
Hope you'll like the trip

Review:
I'm so excited we reached our 20th release. Of course, it's mix, and it was tough making it. The diversity of styles involved here is the substance of Torrentech netlabel philosophy, and as much as it was problematic fitting them together - the mix is that much exceptional. So if you feel like checking out what I think is the best that artists offered for free in past 9 releases, this is the download for you... Thank you all my tT friends, this is one hell of a nice journey I'm into with Torrentech netlabel!

Earth Painting by Seaflyte is really an album to chill out to. Easy landscape-like melodies, interesting sounds, sounds like inspiration successfully converted to music, like every track is written in one breath - that's how the best music is made, that's for sure... Go, use this music and be sure to checkout

Two years after the Torrentech netlabel emerged we can be satisfied: here we have an outstanding mix of the tunes that were released so far on TT001 to TT009. It's very eclectic, but it's what it's all about... We release everything that is electronic, no style boundaries. I hope you'll like the selection I made, as well as mixing which was done in Mixmeister, every 10th release will be like this one.
I wish to thank all the artists which contributed to Torrentech netlabel so far, I'm speacially glad you understand the benefits of this kind of distribution/promotion! Music is free! See ya!...

Review:
What we have here is the first Torrentech remix compilation! It's natural that we came to this point because of the strong online community that is responsible for plenty of friendships and ideas of remixing each others work. Remixes are really not constrained by genre the original track is, so we have some dubstep beast here made over smooth dnb or even a pure disco-house remix of IDM track, so yes... It's weird and pretty much worth listening. Torrentech artists, thank you for taking a part in this remixing project, and for your effort to push things on a next level (of communication)
Canar, thanks for mastering this release!

3 Vektor (5:59)
4 Dolaze Teška Vremena (Ambient) (4:38)
5 Osiromašeni Uranijum (5:56)
Review:
This time we bring you some session-type weird electronic music. This is so serious that you won't get any glimpse of how good it is if you don't listen to it from the beginning to the end. Right now, I keep on asking myself whether I actually need to spend more words on this release, but I will try to. As you can expect anything when you listen to the album, expect anything from me now.
Yeah, the hard times ("teska vremena" in serbian) finally came. Album name translation is: "Hard Times Are Coming". And it's not a joke - hard times are here, that's why this music is so dark, it's the reflection of what's inside. Yeah, this release is kind of epic to me, but don't get too excited if I tell you this... It's just that I am in some kind of time phase with my friend Dominator, this music really suits my mood very well. A display of how sick the music (or life?) can be. Da freaks come out.
Hard times, I guess we just have to live with them, until the time effect kicks in: wounds healed - scars remain, but how gives a shit about the scars? They can even be esthetic and functional too - remind us how stupid and weak we were.
Message from author:
faktor & vektor is a collaboration project of dominator and trut, belgrade based computer+drums duo producing experimental music ranging from drum and bass, jungle and techno all the way to abstract ambient. it is founded in 2005 and to this date have no official releases, although their music is already featured in some movies and tv series, and also in public on various events ranging from dnb to abstract noize, performed and remixed by phase, codex, dominator, kdes and kosmoplovci.
dominator is active in music scene since 1993, producing all kinds of electronic music under various names. he is also a wide known demoscene, music and art activist, being the main person behind corrosion and kosmoplovci groups, involved in numerous projects as music, video, design and programming artist.
trut is best known as being a long time collaborator with serbian musician rambo amadeus, following him and supporting with live drums for most of his carreer, starting back in 1988. he is a bit less known for being a huge music activist, especially supporting and spreading jungle and drum'n'bass scene starting from the early days, but also having an open ear for the experimental side of electronic music. his drumming skills are exceptional and he is widely respected as being one of the best serbian drummers (if not THE best...) but he is also quite open-minded and interested in collaborations that can bring him to situations to develop and create new sounds and ideas by merging best of both analog and digital worlds. this was the point where dominator and trut met and understood each other, and started to make music together as faktor & vektor.
the name of the album 'dolaze teska vremena' means 'hard times are coming', it is not a prophecy it is a fact. however, as dark as it may be, the truth will be ultimatelly be found by brave warriors. faktor & vektor are doing their part in the continuum.
this is faktor & vektor first public release.
you've seen it first on torrentech.

Artist: Josh Winiberg
Album: Fairytale
Discogs:
http://www.discogs.com/release/2294218Label: Torrentech
Catalog#: TT032
Released: 2010-05-28
Style: Ambient / Downtempo / Tech House
Tracklist:
1 Blocster (6:00)
2 Frühling (4:38)
3 Re-Drum - Cyan (Josh Winiberg Dark Winter Remix) (6:31)
4 Fairytale (6:07)
5 Frühling (Re-Drum Remix) (5:52)
Review:
Ambiental music with a rhythmic background is maybe what best describes the Fairytale album by Josh Winiberg. Oboe in 2nd track Frühling sounds almost like Classical piece, but still not lacking electronic moments. This music is thoughtful, deep, joyful and relaxing. Definitely very well worth spending some bandwidth and time.
Message from author:
I first began Fairytale a couple of years back, when I first began producing seriously (the tracks are older than Game Over). It was written over the course of a year, when I first moved to Berlin, then continued in Salzburg... New love and new places are the inspiration and motivation, as well as a fascination with the newly discover joy of production.
Since the pieces were written quite a while back, I spent a long time going over them, trying to get a tidier production. But the pieces were a kind of house of cards, and the balance of imbalances held them together. The better I made them, the worse they got. So I've decided to leave the album almost as it was written originally, apart from a few slight changes. Sometimes we have to know when to accept past works for what they are and to leave them be.
The only newer tracks are the collaborations with Re-Drum, who I enjoy working with very much. The album features the Cyan remix I did from his album Colours, as well as a new remix from him. We're working on a collaboration album right now, when we both find the time between our own projects, and I'm very excited about what the future brings! So watch this space.
Thanks for listening - I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed making it.

Review:
It's time to take a little break and consume beautiful minimal sounds brought to us by Boxmode. Wrong Era album connects subtle Ambient and Minimal vibes, pushing you further to the "deeper" listening, as well as deeper understanding that sound itself can be beautiful. Album name is nice because we're definitely living in wrong era, and we don't have much reasons to be optimistic about the global ongoings and our fate. The problem is there's nothing much we can do if we're not really united and radical in achieving better tomorrow. Let's first unite around listening to the better music, from the better artists, which are recognizing and praising the fact that music is free. And if we _all_ listen to decent music - change in our minds will surely happen....
Message from author:
Hello, I'm Kostas aka "Boxmode". I make music since 2002 when it was my first contact with music production software (and electonic music) like FLstudio and Rebirth. The current work started in March (I think) and was made with Propellerheads Reason 4.0. It really didn't started as whole, I'd say it's a mix of different styles like techno, ambient, minimal and some weird funky tunes. Thanks goes to pyc and tT in whole for giving me the opportunity to release this. Enjoy!!

5 Nocturne (6:26)
Review:
It's very interesting to hear Josh Winiberg, experienced piano composer, making his first steps in electronic music. "Game Over" really sounds inspirative and I think it's because Josh actually was kind of amazed by the freedom to experiment and invent sounds too, not just melodies. This is some kind of deep and fairly minimal techno, but in the other hand, I can say too it's very unusual sounding and really not constrained by common understanding what is techno. There is lot of electro and some IDM vibe here. All in all, this is exceptional to say at least, and you should listen to it. But be aware of the fact, maybe interesting one, that I wasn't really aware on the first listening how much this release is good. Give it a few shots at least!

Message from author:
Whilst browsing the internet one night (and one Torrent site in particular

I discovered dub techno, after years of listening to just D&B. I fell in love with it, and that same night wrote Cave, the first track of this album. This was the beginning of my discovery of techno as a genre. The album as a whole was written like this - as I discovered new things, in my excitement I would write something new in that style. It was a very experimental process for me, and probably breaks some conventions since I've written it all by ear, as a growing fan of techno, rather than with any understanding of the genre.
The concept of Game Over came, since my post projects have involved writing many soundtracks. Writing for games has been very important for me, and I think some of that playful, situation-setting character comes through in the music. It's an album of light and shade, the familiar and the mysterious, at times doubtful and at others optimistic, but always retaining some playful character. For this reason, I chose the title Game Over - it is dramatically tongue-in-cheek, symbolising both ends and new beginings, but to be enjoyed and absorbed in, yet never taken too seriously...
The artwork was done by my friend Daniel J Cook. The style of the picture is Dan's trademark, called an Opt, and the picture is called Turntables. For me, it captures perfectly the contrast within the album - the blend of dark undertones, brightened with the occasional splash of colour and at times comical style. For more of Dan's work, visit:
http://danieljwoop.blogspot.com/I'm really happy to be included on the TT label. The community here is wonderful, and have great taste. The other TT releases make me feel I have a lot to live up to, which is both scary but also very exciting. I'm very grateful for being a part of the label and of this great community, which also opened so many doors for me in electronic music - I wouldn't have made the album without it.

Push-Button Saviour is making his debut on Torrentech netlabel with some pretty good stuff. Donations & Medications is a downtempo album with no breaks between tracks, and it naturally flows from track to track, in the best Boards Of Canada manner. I'm repeating myself, but how can I even think of not mentioning them when their influence here is definitely huge and confirmed by artist?
Message from author:
"Donations And Medications" was recorded during 2002-2004, using a PowerMac 9600 running Peak 2.6 (for sample editing) Reason 2.5 (for sequencing/arrangement) and T-RackS (for 'loudness maximization'). The resulting recordings were made available for streaming via www.pushbuttonsaviour.com and later www.poweredbysound.org (both expired domains) but the songs were never made available for sale nor download. After failed attempts at clearing unlicensed samples used in it's creation, I've decided to make it available for free via Torrentech.org instead of putting it up for sale via the iTunes store.
The songs that make up "Donations And Medications" were written during a turbulent period which involved massive changes taking place all at once: being laid off from a job, a breakup with a girlfriend, and a forced change of residence. The "Push-Button Saviour" (or PBS-9623) was initially a nickname given to the system made up of the aforementioned PowerMac 9600 computer plus the keyboards and controllers which were used to create this music. The PBS-9623 was a configuration of devices which, seemed to - at the push of several buttons - make all symptoms of emotional distress (as well as the ability to perceive the passage of time) vanish into thin air, thus providing a form of temporary 'salvation'.
In a sense, it could be said that the music on "Donations..." was done as a form of therapy, an exercise in capturing recordings that evoked good memories of an era that had come to an end, in place of dwelling on the suffering of changes that were taking place simultaneously. The "Donations" in question are here for whoever chooses to accept them. Hopefully they will serve as "Medications" for those of you who are able to assimilate what messages are carried within the music presented here.
Respectfully,
Daniel Salomón

Here we have the new release by one of the most active and talented tT community members, and that's, of course, Re-Drum. Once again he is prooving his diversity in electronic music genres. After the IDM and Ambient sounds on Different Analysis album, across Minimal and Dub Techno on Colours I & II, we are honoured to enjoy some Downtempo styled music on his latest album. This is one sample-intensive journey that you can rotate for a whole day while you're geeking around on the net.

Thank you once again Re-Drum!
Message from author:
So, here's my last project: "Another Path Between Universes". Most of the tracks were made during 2009 except "Tempus Fugit" which is an old experimentation on samples I've made 5 years ago. Like my previous release "Differential Analysis", this album is mainly sample based, some of the tracks are just made out of samples (A long run, einstein on the beach). You'll hear a lot of samples from movies, I'll let you find which are those movies

This album is mainly influenced by trip-hop, breaks and IDM but you'll hear some techno, house and electro influences also.
I've been contacted by a chicago based label, Turbulent Calm records, to release my deep/dub techno tracks. I'll let you know when it will be released (on beatport, juno...). This EP will feature Purple, LSD, Vortex Dub and Sagan's Dream.

Here we have our tT netlabel artist releasing under different alias. So it's Push-Button Saviour a.k.a. FIDM, giving us a bit more experimental trip on his new release. This is mind-intensive music, always unpredictable both in the means of structure and sound, begging you to be focused while you listen to it, and then the whole new world may emerge. Or should I say landscape? Or should I just say... It's m.e.n.t.a.l. and you got to listen to it patiently because only then you can reach the deepness incorporated.

Nice & easy, loopy & bleepy. If you're into ambientish IDM, you shouldn't miss this release. By playing it as a background music, it improves your intellectual capabilities while working on your new geeky project. Really words can't be enough to describe the music here, it's simple: click on it and enjoy it. There's no false move there...
Read the message from author:
I started to make music when I was 13 (with the game "Music" on psone), back then, I was listening to DJ Shadow - Entroducing which inspired me a lot... Then I started to play drums and guitar and I listened to all Warp and Rephlex releases. And more recently to Planet-Mu and Dubstep / Glitch.
This release is a compilation of the music I've made during the last 5 years, using Ableton Live. Technically, I used a lot of samples (like Boyd Rice in graphical or Leo férré in Reconstruction...) to make melodies, rhythms... Sometimes you can hear a guitar or a some noisy sounds from my circuit-bending (like the speak & spell in Pepone Cycle / Mute Lab).
Enjoy the sound.

We're bringing you the proper classic sounding drum & bass from one of TT radio DJs and active community members. There are some relaxing as well as "angry" vibes on this album, and I guess the most dnb followers will appreciate this stuff. Enough said, now go download it

Firstly I wanna thank all the people here at tT. They have given me a platform to express myself and for that I am very grateful. I started making music when I was 13 with a CD i got free with a box of Cheerios! Then I moved onto FL Studio, bought myself lots of samples and started making the tracks u hear today. I am not concentrated to one genre, in the future I will experiment with other genres I am not so familiar with! This EP is a real testament to the everyday person... We all have a million dreams... but we all face one reality... peace people!

Here comes the new Re-Drum, now a bit more techy, noisy and minimal. We can still hear Re-Drum's touch to it, this is for easy listening by the people who also admire 4-on-the-floor beats. Naming the tracks after colours is logical, we all do know everything is vibration, every color carries its vibe... It's nice to hear how someone hears the colours... Do you listen to colours too?

Message from the artist:
Colours are deepness, they try to hypnotize you in different ways, with their own spirit. With this idea, I started to make this album, in two part. First part is deep and minimal, second part is ambient, IDM. Each track has a colour name which represent the spirit of the track. This is raw materials, I composed 7 of 9 track in 2 weeks cause the idea come off one day... Colours are varied, as this album is I think. Just chill for a moment, have a listen... words are great but music is better. Enjoy!

Review:
It's where deep/dubbish/minimal techno meets dubstep. Now we have here something we can call a cross-remixed collaboration. It's a kind of communication between the two artists, exchanging the views to the same trip. Tracks are strong and sound quality is really good. Who said dubstep people can't get into deep techno and vice-versa?
Message from authors:
Mr Bit:
Hailing from the UK. Mr Bit is no stranger to the electronic music scene. As a DJ for 9 years and a producer for 5 years he has taken his unique mixing style to Spain, Italy, Holland. Through these events he has played alongside the likes of Meat Katie, Rob Da Bank, Ryan Crosson, Japanese Popstars, Switch, The Glimmers, Audiowerner, Breakfastaz, Nathan Fake, Streetlife DJ's, Dave The Drummer, Chris Liberator & Paula Temple. He has also played on the same slot as PVD, Slam and Adam Beyer on the Oban FM radio show and was even quoted "tip for the top". His love for music shows in his productions ranging from trip hop to techno. By making different styles he feels he can learn new techniques which can reflect in his music. Sit back & enjoy the world of Mr Bit!
http://www.myspace.com/thetechnobeastRe-Drum:
The Blends EP started with the idea of Mr Bit to make a remix of Blue. I discover his productions and decided to make a remix of one of his track, The Wrong Ladder. And, here it is... I think both remix add something new to the original. Mrbit's remix add a nice groove/feeling and I think mine exaggerate the mad side. Blend your mind and enjoy.

Review:
Again we're breaking the limits, prooving that anything that's electronic and good is eligible for Torrentech netlabel. This time, we're bringing pretty much unique vibe. Why is that? Because every single pre-listener of this album said that this is the music they were not aware of, also there was a bit of "not my cup of tea" thingy, but that's really unimportant... Because in the same time everyone said this is really worthy releasing and the people really should hear this trip. As for me, all I know is that I like this album more and more as days go by, and one just maybe need to get used to those "intensive" rapping vocals here, but after some time you will eventually conclude they fit perfectly into this breaky tension. ElectroBreaksWithSomeDubstepAmbientAndHouse vibes... I think that can be the bottomline.

Message from authors:
This project came out of the bizarre response to a house remix of Fungi. I figured after the fourth remix i did i might as well make an album out of it. I composed everything on acid (the program) with a bunch of generic drum samples and a hacked copy of kompakt.
When I made the original fungi remix what i was intending on doing was taking a song by Rosetta Stoned (which is a fairly aggressive experimental hip hop group) and turning it into a musical cliche of what i think house music sounds like. I have everything from the echoed out kicks, filter sweeps, snare rushes, initial buildup that takes to long, incredibly simple rhythm and music, and a slight musical change up on the second verse. What surprised me was after i made it everyone (i mean everyone) loved it. It kinda made me lose faith in myself... and everyone i know.
But i decided to run with it and make similar tracks with similar instruments and ultimately model it after Vengaboys "The Party Album." hence the title "Get Stoned and Party Album."
Witchcraft (vampire fighter remix) is a Delia Darbyshire sample with vocal spots taken from this video. Goodbye Witchcraft (magical unicorns mix) is of coarse sampled from Q Lazzaruses "Goodbye Horses." Stand ft. Shunda K (ambient hop remix) comes from the album "The Oneness of Juju." Last Supper (Dance Dance Dance Remix) was inspired by listening to too much Datassette. Everything else is pretty much original.

Another deep one from Torrentech's kitchen. Somewhere between IDM and Drum & Bass with Experimental edge, this release is very good. This is one of the albums you just have to "switch-on" to understand, these tracks are not for child's play, and the more you listen to 'em you find some new meanings. All in all, this is the right stuff, for right people.

Message from author:
Most of this album was written whilst living in a bus around the north circular in 2005/06 (although a couple of tracks date back to a squat we had on Victoria Park road in 2003). It was finished a year later then put thru Hue Jah Fink's nice box, (Google this man by the way!!). It was meant for a hardcopy release but I lacked any throwaway finances. But now here it is. Long live torrents!!

Review:
Another release from Mathew Pelton, this time even better! We can now clearly recognize the Pelton's style which ranges from Ambient to Experimental, incorporating his own characteristic melodies. Of course, there are some Drum 'n' Bass and Dubstep influences too, generally the listener can feel the Pelton is free to express himself being not affraid to mix the vibes, emotions and all kinds of different sounds. This album will be appreciated by any serious electronic music admirer.
Message from author:
Well, this is my second release for Torrentech, and I'm very proud of it for three reasons. For one, it didn't take me a year to record it (I started writing music for this right after the release of Musique Schizophrene, so...five months?). For another, it's about twice as long as the EP, which was my goal for this release. Finally, according to some of my peers, both electronica fans and producers alike, I have achieved a much more mature sound than my previous EP. That being said, I hope you enjoy Bedroom Transmissions and its musical tale of some techno-producing kid and his struggles to change the way the world listens to music through transmitting his bedroom compositions all throughout the internet.
...Okay, maybe this album isn't THAT deep. Anyway, please download and enjoy!

Another great release from Torrentech's kitchen. Very suitable for easy listening background music, + there's Voyager, more rhythmic and very catchy track that reminds me of the first half of 90ies when IDM sounds started to emerge. As for Boards of Canada - this album is real tribute to them, once more verifying the fact that they are one of the most influential electronic bands ever. Really nice vibes for long term listening. Thank you, Seaflyte!

This EP contains some of the tracks I've been doing in my spare time lately. I get inspired by other music such as Boards of Canada and Biosphere, and a lot by travelling as well. I always like to travel when I can, both physically and in my own mind. I love listening to music while on train or metro with my earphones, and in some way that inspired me in creating my own soundtrack for those trips. You can reach me at seaflyte @ gmail dot com

Review:
Now every admirer of music in genaral, should understand that this release by Geche is s e r i o u s l y amazing. I'm rotating it for few days now and I don't intend to stop it. It does remind me of the best Future Sound Of London works, because all is there: live instruments (mostly piano), female vocals and electronics of course. Audio production is perfect, really one of the best I've heard lately. There are no favorite track here - everything together is packed very well. I really won't spend more of your time here, I just want to say that this is the album you simply can't miss to download. Thank you
valvestat!
Message from author:
A mix of tracks made since 2001, Latx being the oldest. Vocals by Emma Butlin, Sara Ellis and Una So-dirty Star. This collection comprises the darker, more melodic but less tweaK-heavy music from my vaults and has more emphasis on atmosphere and melody. This collection is for P Daniels and B Ryan as without them, I wouldn't be making any noise at all.

Review:
If somebody asked me 2 years ago what will be the Torrentech's legacy as a label, I would reply with something like "plenty of serious techno beats". But hell no, it turned out that IDM and breakbeats are actually dominant. Don't know what's the reason and I don't mind too much that there's actually no "serious techno beats" yet, but here's another nice piece of art to enforce the IDM, the most broadly and free-form defined style in electronic music today. Ryan Pivovar's "Penrose Triangle" is really the enjoyable album, with some absolute masterpieces on it. You know how it goes, it's stringy, bleepy, rhythmic, but with the special unique touch from the artist. When I said masterpieces I was thinking the most about one track called "Everyone Is Fleeting" which is on daily non stop rotation here, I just can't get enough of it... Beautiful piano that is telling the story, nice rhythm section, pads from another world. Really a classic, expect it for sure on upcoming "The Best Of Torrentech Vol. 2". Thank you Ryan!
Message from the author:
The entire album is a combination of beats and hardware synthesizers. I used Ableton, Renoise, and Battery (as VST in Renoise) for software. The rhythmic structure of parts of this album is a true testament to the effectiveness of using a tracker for beats. I think I was interested in the idea of rhythmic disorientation through a good portion of this album, a la Aaron Funk, Stravinsky, Meshuggah. I'm really into Amon Tobin, Autechre, Modeselektor, and Venetian Snares, as far as a electronica goes. Thanks so much to Torrentech. Special thanks to Rick Fernandes, Stephan Rose and Ross Pivovar. Please enjoy.

It seems to me that this is one of the best releases so far on Torrentech netlabel. Clear ideas, beautiful samples and just floating... Nice and subtle changes, rhythmic adventures, it's really kind of hard to get bored by listening to this album. This release as a whole is very good, anyways I would like to emphasize few gems among other tracks: Cincinnasty (it just "buys you" on the first listening), Melting Ice (beautiful IDMish sounds, nice pads), Takin' It Back (funky downtempo track, bassline kicks ass), Sunshine and Western Sounds (pure Boards Of Canada trip

, Right Now (evolving just right, niceeee pads)... You can't miss this!
Message from the artist:
Sonik (Jeromie Esterline) has been producing music since 1991. He can remember sitting on his father's lap playing a synthesizer at 3 years old and after losing his father at 4 years old he has played keys ever since. Music has always been playing itself out in his mind and he eventually decided that it had to come out, and so the process began. He started out on pianos and organs at his grandmother's houses, then later he got his first Casio. There is no philosophy behind Sonik's approach to creation other than simply needing to make the sounds in his mind come to life. It is a part of his life and mind that is inescapable and it pushed him to play with drum machines and anything that made sound his entire life. Acquiring a Casio HT-700 in the mid 80's, Sonik began programming his own beats and hanging out at the local music store. The first full scale production came in the 1991. The entire album was recorded at home using a Novation KS4 and Sony Acid for some of the tracks, Reason for others. None of the KS4 synthesizer parts are quantized, they are recorded as single takes and are largely unedited to give the album a natural feel.

Review:
Don't worry if the melody becomes random, that's intentional, yeah. If the melody looses its connection to the rhythm, there is nothing wrong with it. Even if you loose the touch with reality while you're listening, there's nothing wrong there too, because this music is made to put you in some abstract worlds where the only rule is that there's no rules. The only thing that you should worry about is actually not to listen to this stuff too much, realising in the end it may not be of much help if you want to increase your mental awareness of the real world

. Let me be direct and descriptive: this is actually some very good hypnotizing shit: glitchy, bleepy, noisy, repetitive, but sensible, melodic and rhythmic in the other hand.
Sounds are well produced, the trips should be a decent copy of composer's mind, this one is very enjoyable by ones who "want more from the music". Just one thing more, really pay attention to recorded phone call linked down there! Weirdo...
Message from author:
There is no method or purpose in the production of Meals. It is a strictly nihilistic endevour. The album was produced with Ableton in a single day in 2007. Fourteen Zero's instructed me to tell Torrentech listeners that he died during the album's production. A
recorded phone call is included with this note.
I would describe the Fourteen Zero's music as a large nimbus cloud. Gaze into the cloud and you can perceive elephants, spaghetti, or kingdoms in the sky. Or, as one listener described the music on myspace: "It sounds like a thousand pebbles in a washing machine."
It is great experimental music and fun to mix.

Review:
To be perfectly honest, this music just can't be for anyone, the more... rare are the ones who get the point. And perhaps, the active listening to this stuff requires dark room, good comfortable sofa and very very weird mood. It's real Ambient, with no rhythm, there's no any melodies in their classic sense. Everything is about the sound layers that are morphing for 63 long minutes. Are you ready for this? Do you have that courage to listen to it all?

Review:
Mugwhumps's "The Mutilator" album. Well, we love to expect the unexpected. Here we have an interesting, ever-changing piece of music, but still we can categorize it as IDMish Drum & Bass. Or Drum & Bassy IDM? Also, there is some Experimentish Ambient. Seems like great deal of inspiration was incorporated into this great release, and probably again, it's not for anyone's ear. This music is so rich and demands attention, and one may think that's the failure of it, but he is utterly and definitely wrong. One thing is sure - when/if this becomes mainstream, we can be sure conscious revolution already happened

. But it's surely be after WWIII....
Message from author:
Well, I really don't have much of a philosophy, which I suppose sums up my approach to music-making. I've been through the mill with sequencers & midi and decided that It's something of a creative dead-end (for me). I like nothing more than starting from a single sound, expanding and warping it into something interesting then adding the next (& so on). I don't really see my work as "songs", to me it's more like a collage of noise.
Big influences :- William Burroughs, Negativland, People Like Us and all the other plunderphonic gods. Although my musical roots are in hip-hop/electro/acid/hardcore/jungle etc etc. My biggest musical mentor is the weed. Taking drugs to make music to take drugs to.
My main problem with making electronic music is that there are so many amazing records, so much history, that I feel kinda crushed by it all. This release was all about exorcising my music-tech demons, to unlearn the un-necessary & get back to something more immediate. I'm not trying to be the best at what I do, and don't want to wow the listener with my beat-mangling skills - I'll leave that to the big boys with more time on their hands!
All the music is made in Cool Edit Pro, no sequencers or samplers. Just pcm audio and a fuckofalot of plugins.
I hope the listener enjoys, and has the patience to listen to the LP a few times before making their mind up.
Cheers... Paul

5 Inaya Day Meets Nick Jay - All I'm Sayin' (Jean Maxwell Radio Remix) (3:18)
6 Future Groovers - 10 Seconds (Secured Mix) (2:41)
Review:
Someone said: "and now something completely different!"... It was about time to introduce some pretty much different vibe on our netlabel, giving you a definition of modern club house today. Torrentech's field is wide-electronic, and here's the first piece of evidence: Jean Maxwell's Remixes of some popular house songs. Sweet, easy songs for happy clubbing nights, you know that vibe, the chicks, and all... I was always thinking that possibly the greatest challenge in music is to make good happy songs. Well, Jean surely achieved that goal. Not all songs here are remixes, the last song "10 Seconds" is original, and easily puts you in some happy dancey years (1990-1995).
Message from author:
Jean Maxwell is a swedish producer who has remixed artists such as Freemasons, Uniting Nations, Outsiders, Outwork, Lady Gaga, SwingFly, Nick Jay, Inaya Day and many more... He believes that everyone could produce good music as long as people do it for the right thing. Even though he isn't signed to any label, he has contributed with many good remixes to the music market around the world. He is still looking for a label to get signed by, and still hopes to get a hit within few years. In this package there is totally 6 tracks included as well with the new remix "Electro" by Outwork, and we are the first on the net to release the track before its available anywhere. Be sure to download it!!!
Visit his website for more music at:
http://www.JeanMaxwell.se, or check out his Myspace at
http://www.myspace.com/jeanmaxwellHe is also producing music with a friend called Mico B under the artist name "Future Groovers". Torrentech.org is the one to first have the exclusive track "10 Seconds" to share with all members at the forum before its getting releases, so be sure to listen to the track!

Experimental vibe to say at least, an ear-candy for all true admirers of electronic bleeps, clicks, noises and freestyle melodies. This album demands special attention from the listener. As someone said, these are not lullabies, this is the music for serious people.

Style: IDM / Downtempo / Ambient
Catalog: TT002
Released: 2008
Remark: tracks 2, 3 and 6 are 192 kbps
Tracklist:
1. Introduction
2. Musique Schizophrène
3. Nichiyoubi
4. Borealis
5. Space Elevator
6. Robot Asylum
7. Reflections Of You In The April Rain
Review:
Countinuing our quest through releasing the quality electronic music, here's Torrentech's new release from Mathew Pelton. From IDM to Experimental to Ambient with one beautiful Downtempo gem called Space Elevator which quite easily gets into your ear on the first listening. The cover song Musique Schizophrène even sounds like some new weird kind of Pop. The one very worth mentioning too is Reflections Of You In The April Rain which very nicely closes this journey. There are some live instruments (guitar, piano, drums), showing us the composer knows no borders between genres.
Message from author:
If you're listening to this, congratulations. This EP is the product of nine months worth of work (mostly procrastination). You probably won't like this unless you're gay for electronic music, but hey, it's better than Soulja Boy. If you like this, please distribute it freely. My myspace link is

Artist: Customer
Album: Chocolate Ants
Discogs:
http://www.discogs.com/release/1539306Label: Torrentech netlabel
Style: IDM / Downtempo
Catalog: TT006
Released: 2008
Tracklist:
1. Kari And The Fire Eater (5:17)
2. The Tide Pulls You Out (2:03)
3. They Look Like Ants From Here (4:23)
4. New Kicks (3:22)
5. It Was Nice... While It Lasted (2:30)
6. Death Of A Nobody (2:07)
7. Chocolate Milk For Wookies (4:05)
Review:
Customer's second release for Torrentech netlabel continues the vibe we already felt on Checkout Line. This time, it's even more coherent. Nice micro sounds, pads, a bit of melancholic melodies, pushing towards the finer and finer expression. This album is to be listened from the beginning to the end, because it flows great. And it's good as a "background" music, too.
Message from authors:
Checkout Line was a lot of fun but we wanted to do something more focused this time around. This EP contains tracks from before, after and during the Checkout Line period but we feel they go together quite nicely. The three shorter songs act as interlude type pieces between what initially seemed to be the real standouts but we've found that these songlettes can be just as enjoyable as their full fledged counterparts. Two of the interludes even exist as longer versions, and seeing as how one of them is already a remix of an older track, don't be surprised if a recognizable theme shows up on a later release. Without further ado seven new songs from Customer.
