But here's one of the best objective resources I've found: A very balanced summary of medical uses and dangers by the National Academy of Sciences. It's free to read online (if you want a PDF, PM), just click on the chapters. Debunks quite a few myths (in both directions) with solid evidence.
TL;DR: Does marihuana have medical uses? Definitely. Does it have adverse medical effects? Yes, but the full extent isn't known yet, as there are few long-term studies. However, it is almost universally accepted that cannabis is less harmful than alcohol.
